Ich bin ja ein bekennender Weihnachtsfan und so war es für mich die logische Konsequenz irgendwann einmal Christmas Shopping in New York zu erleben!

Dieses Jahr war es endlich soweit, meine Krabbelgruppenfreundin im Gepäck ging es also auf in den Big Apple. Bereits bei der Landung war die Landschaft gezuckert und kalt war es auch, so dass die Weihnachtsstimmung spätestens bei der Ankunft in der Hotellobby mit ihrer golden/lila Weihnachtsdeko aufkam. Bereits der erste Tag war shopping-mäßig erfolgreich, habe mein Michael Kors Weihnachtsoutfit gefunden J. Weitere Tage mit viiielen Geschenken, vor allem für mich selbst, folgten.

Und dann kam er……der PERFEKTE Schuh! Ich war verliebt! Das erste Mal gesehen haben wir uns bei Saks in der traumhaften Schuhabteilung, der Jimmy Choo Fathom und ich…..und ja es war Liebe beim ersten Anprobieren. Er sah Hammer aus und gleichzeitig war er auch noch soooo bequem! Ich war im siebten Himmel…doch leider holte mich ein Blick auf das Preisschild recht schnell wieder auf den Boden der Tatsachen zurück! Knapp 700€ für einen Schuh, dessen Einsatzmöglichkeiten doch beschränkt sind, sind dann doch zu viel…oder etwa nicht!?! Na ja, am nächsten Abend schaute ich nochmal schnell bei Saks rein um mich von „meinem“ Schuh zu verabschieden, aber ich habe ihn schweren Herzens dort gelassen wo er war.

Ansonsten haben wir natürlich alle Weihnachts-Must do´s and see´s mitgenommen: den Baum am Rockefeller Center, die Lasershow auf der Hauswand von Saks, Macy´s, die Eislaufbahn im Central Park, das Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular und vieles mehr.

Die Zeit war auf jeden Fall zu kurz, aber super schön! Kann ich jedem nur empfehlen. Zu Hause angekommen, wollte erst mal die Weihnachtsdeko aufgestellt, das Weihnachtsbäumchen gekauft werden und die obligatorischen Weihnachtsmarktbesuche standen auch an…..es ging also gleich herrlich weihnachtsmäßig weiter. In diesem Sinne: Happy Holidays!

It´s christmas….allover

I’m a self-confessed Christmas fan, therefore it was only a matter of time before I went to do some christmas shopping in NYC!

This year, me and my longest lasting friend from toddler group, flew into the Big Apple. All we could see during landing was snow-covered landscape and with the outside air being cold and the hotel lobby´s christmas decoration in gold and purple the christmas spirit was finally there.

The first day of shopping was already a success as I found my christmas outfit by Michael Kors J. Days with much more presents, mostly for myself, followed.

And then I met him …… the PERFECT shoe! I was in love! It happend in the wonderful shoe department of Saks, I came across the Jimmy Choo Fathom and it was love at first try on! He was beautiful and comfy! I was in seventh heaven…..but then…the look on the price tag! Over 800$ for a shoe who´s use is limited are a slight bit too much, or maybe not!?!

Well, the next night I looked at him again at Saks purely to say goodbye….definitely with a broken heart!

Of course we had all the Christmas must do’s and see’s taken: the tree at Rockefeller Center, the laser show on the wall of Saks, Macy’s, the ice rink in Central Park, the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular and much more.

The time was definitely too short, but beautiful! I can recommend it to anyone, at least to every christmas fan. Back home I put up the christmas decoration, bought a christmas tree and vistited the christmas market with mandatory gluehwein! In this chistmassy spirit: Happy Holidays!
